Description

The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue solicitation N00024-01-R-8507 for procurement of advance planning, nuclear propulsion plant interface and non-propulsion maintenance, repair and modernization for USS NIMITZ CVN 68 Post Shakedown Availability/Selected Restricted Availability. This effort will be performed in the ship's homeport, San Diego, California. The solicitation will be issued to Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company on a sole source basis. Newport News is the only known qualified private source with the knowledge and experience required to accomplish this effort.
