Description

1 -- The US Army Corps of Engineers- Portland District intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract for the fabrication and delivery of thirteen (13) new powerhouse headgates and demolition and disposal of approximately 30 existing headgates. The new headgates are for Bonneville Dam, located on the Columbia River near Cascade Locks, Oregon. The work includes the fabrication and delivery of new powerhouse headgates: 12 each for Bonneville's First Powerhouse and 1 each for Bonneville's Second Powerhouse. The headgates weigh approximately 65 tons each and have basic dimensions of 21 feet wide and 45 feet high. Contractor shall remove and dispose of up to 30 of the First Powerhouse's existing headgates. Time for completion is as follows: The single Second Powerhouse's headgate must be delivered to the Project (Bonneville Dam) no later than 01 October 2001, and the 12 First Powerhouse's headgates must be delivered no later than 23 June 2003. Cost estimate is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Award will be made to the firm offering the best value to the Government. Particular emphasis will be placed on past performance, including work history related to fabrication of items of similar magnitude and complexity, and adherence to schedules by the company. This solicitation is exclusively (100%) set-aside for small businesses. The NAICS is 332312, small business size standard is 500 employees. FSC is 5450. Contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor's Registration (CCR) database to be eligible for award. Solicitation DACW57-01-R-0011 will be available on or about 30 Mar 2001.
