- Description
- This is a notice of intent to issue a sole source purchase order to Fairbanks Morse Engine Division, to repair FM38D8 1/8 engine parts. This request for quote (RFQ) for commercial items is prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The RFQ number is DTCG80-01-Q-3FAB09. The RFQ will be issued on or about February 16, 2001, via the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the RFQ will not be issued. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the EPS systems for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Written quotations are due by February 23, 2001. Applicable North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code is 333618 and size standard is 1000 employees. This non-competitive action will be processed in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). Fairbanks-Morse is the only known company that can provide the Original Equipment Manufactured (OEM) repair parts, and factory trained technicians, to repair the components listed below. However, all responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered by the Coast Guard. The following FM39D8 1/8 engine components shall be disassembled, cleaned, inspected, repaired, reassembled and tested: CLIN 0001: 10 each cylinder liners, 40 each adapters and components, P/N 16607648V; CLIN 0002: 10 each upper piston-connecting rod assemblies, and 10 each lower piston connecting rod assemblies, P/Ns 16600736, 16600737, 16606479, 16606478; CLIN 0003: 20 each fuel injection pumps, P/N 16611019; CLIN 0004: 1 each lube oil pump and relief valve, P/N C1084AFBANC; CLIN 0005: 1 each jacket water pump, P/N 16608013 1 each raw water pump, P/N 16603512; CLIN 0006: 1 each upper and lower vertical drive assemblies and spring pack, P/N 16606688. Items shall be packed, packaged and marked in accordance with commercial standards. The contractor shall extend to the government the full coverage of commercial sale warranty provided such warranty is available at no additional cost to the government. Repaired parts shall be shipped F.O.B destination to Cheboygan, Michigan not later than 1 May 2001. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE). The Department of Transportation (DOT) Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
