Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information includes in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document, incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-19. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be followed according to Far part 13, 51-212-1, 2,3,4 &5. The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Serviced (APHIS), Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ), intends to acquire 187,000 Jackson traps without the toxix precaution reading nad 60,000 Jackson inserts with stickem QUOTATIONS ARE DUE BY March 6, 2001 by 10:00 AM Central Standard time. Submit written or faxed quotation to "Purchasing Section" at (612) 370-2136. Simplified procurement procedures will be used as well as commercial item acquisition regulations per Far 12. Applicable FAR clauses are incorporated bt reference: Prompt Payment 52.202-2; Fixed Price 52.243-1; evaluation-commercial items 52.202-2; offeror Representations and Certifications 52.212-3; Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items 52.212-4; Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders-Commercial Items 52.212-5. Brand Name or Equal 52,211-6. All responsible sources may submit a quotation for consideration. Offers should include tax payer identification number _________________________ and DUNS number ____________________. SPECIFICATIONS: Trap body shall be made of white, bleached sulphate, solid paperboard, 0.024 inch (60.96 mm) minimum thickness, with 0.001 inch polyplastic coating on both surfaces. It is essential that the traps be capble of withstanding outdoor weather for a period of 90 calendar days. The trap body shall be 5 inches (12.7 cm) long by 3 inches (9.524 cm) wide on each of three sides. One side shall be flame welded to a 1.2 inch (1.27) wide flap that is lapped over the outside of the adjoining side. The joint shall be positioned at the top of the trap. The flame welded joint must be waterproof, and shall withstand constant exposure to direct sunlight and temperatures of 120 degrees fahrenheit 49 Celsius). In addition to the fold creases for forming the triangle shaped trap, there shall be a fold crease along the center of the bottom, so the trap can be be folded flat for packaging and storage. The insert shall be installed parallel to the inside bottom surface. The insert shall fit tight enough in the trap to prevent sliding out when exposed to wind and weather. The inserts shall be made of white, bleached sulphate paperboard, 0.40 inch minimum thickness, with 0.001 inch polyolastic coating both sides. The insert shall be be a arallelogram shape and measure 6 inches (15.875 cm) on the long sides, by 3 11/16 inches (9.366 cm) the parallle sides. The with dimensions may be slightly different to insure a tight fit in the trap body. The acute angle shall be 70 degrees. A crease shall be at the center of the insert to a 180 degre fold prior to use. Stickem: inserts with stickem shall have one surface, between diagonals, coated with insect trapping adhesive stickem special. This material is manufactured by.
