- Description
- This project is to construct a Customer Service Lobby with Postal Store. Site is approximately 73,000 s.f. and is fully involved and has access to both Long Beach Blvd (Ocean County Rte 607) and Ocean Ave. Utilities are readily available. There will not be any storm water ponds. A 13,000 s.f. existing building has been demolished, site paving has been pulverized and left on-site, utilities are cut & capped. Building elevations will be brought up to 10'0", the rest of the site will be pre-loaded (steel pilings will be utilized). The site will be USPS owned with no building construction permits. Utility connection fees, user fees, etc. will be pre-paid by USPS. The design is based upon USPS small size building standard plans. Work includes but is not limited to, earthwork, site utilities and site improvements, paving and landscaping. Work also includes concrete foundations and slab, steel structure, steel joists and decking, asphalt shingle roof, sheet metal, vinyl siding, masonry metal stud partitions, insulation, gypsum board walls and ceilings, ceramic tile, acoustical ceilings, resilient flooring, carpeting, custom cabinets and fixtures, carpentry, glass storefront system, painting, metal doors, wood doors, metal frames, door hardware, metal fabrications, toilet partitions and accessories, signage, lockers, loading dock equipment, detection systems cameras, security systems, electrical and heating, ventilation and air conditioning complete and ready for use. Offeror must have a minimum of five (5) years experience as a general contractor and must have satisfactorily completed at least five (5) projects of similar size and scope. Award will be based on proposal considered most advantageous to the USPS. Special Project Conditions: (1) Offerors will note that demolition of on-site structures has already been performed under separate contract. Pavement/concrete has been ground up and left on site for appropriate sub-grade use or for construction entrances. Utilities have been cut/capped. (2) USPS will directly pay all fees, permits, or charged for connections to outside services (such as utilities), soil erosion, permits, curb cut fees, etc. All work directly required or coordination of others' work as part of these fees mentioned above, permits or connection charges, remain the contractor's responsibility. Technical Specifications and Drawings are available at the cost of $95.00 per set (Non-Refundable. Make check or money order payable to the USPS, Disbursing Officer, referencing Solicitation #232098-01-A-0017. Please do not send cash. Offers are due Thursday, March 29, 2001 @1:00 PM. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any offer, or relative standing of the offers will not be disclosed to anyone until award of contract is made. All offerors will received notification of award. The Postal Service reserves the right to reject any or all offers. AWARD WILL BE BASED ON PROPOSAL CONSIDERED MOST ADVANTAGEOUS TO THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE.
