- Description
- Date for receipt of proposals: Friday, April 20, 2001 Proposals are requested to develop and deliver a training course consisting of up to twenty eight (28) hours of actual instruction. This course will provide a comprehensive look into the operations of a multi-modal transit agency. Along with basic information it will provide an overview of the many facets of transit operations, and it will include how services are organized and the many functions, resources, and relationships that work together to deliver transit services. It will provide the participants an overview of agency finance, organizational structure, public policy, planning and marketing. The goal is to help those new to transit or in positions of progressive responsibility gain a greater understanding of the resources and relationships that must be coordinated to deliver transit services in a large metropolitan area. This three and a half (31/2) day course will provide an introduction to transportation operations for new employees and others who are not familiar with all areas of the industry through presentations, hands-on experience, site visits and in-depth discussion with industry professionals. Coordination with various transit agencies for tours of facilities will be required. The contract will require the development of a participant manual, instructor's guide and presentation aids, and course outline and delivery of up to nine (9) times during the three- (3) year contract period and up to six (6) additional times should an optional two- (2) year contract extension be exercised NTI will require proposers to have had experience in the transit industry as well as experience in developing and delivering training programs. To obtain a copy of the complete RFP, send a written request on organization letterhead to the University Procurement & Contracting address above. Fax or e-mail requests will be accepted; telephone requests are unacceptable. RFPs will not be faxed. Requests received by March 9, 2001 will be honored. RFPs will be mailed shortly thereafter. Proposers submitting and signing the proposal documents must be the original requesters of the proposal package. Rutgers University is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to provide opportunities to small businesses, minority-owned businesses and/or female-owned businesses.
