Description

This is a Market survey to locate additional sources for a spare assembly for the IFF Transponder AN/APX-72. The item is as follows: NSN: 5985-00-089-8010, Transmitter Oscillator, part of the RT-859A/APX-72. Present planning calls for approximately 4000 units to be procured on a 5 year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract. Expect operational bid samples to be requested in the June 2001 timeframe, with procurement expected in the Aug-Sep 2001 timeframe. The item is to be manufactured in accordance with CECOM performance specification SM-D-955654 Rev C. This drawing is available through the Army. Items shall be required to undergo performance testing in accordance with the latest revision of TM11-5985-490-34 DS/GS Maintenance Instructions for the APX-72, while installed in the RT-859A/APX-72. The host system testing shall serve to demonstrate: (1) that the assembly is fully operational when installed in the host system and (2) complete physical and functional interchangeability with units supplied by the current source. It is planned that system testing will be conducted at a Government Facility using the test equipment identified in the above TM. The current source for this RF subassembly is MPD Incorporated, Cage: 33173. Suppliers capable of furnishing these units meeting all of the requirements above, must so indicate, by writing the Commander, USACECOM, ATTN: AMSEL-LC-IEW-C-CM, Building 1201E, Ft Monmouth NJ 07703-5023. The response must include documentation such as test results, copy of purchase order if supplier was a vendor to the listed source or data demonstrating the supplier can, in fact, supply the Army an item that will be physically and functionally interchangeable with unit from the previous successful supplier identified herein.
