Description

The Blackfeet Utilities Commission is seeking bids on two (2) 5.5 cubic yard capacity industrial solid waste compactors. Bids will be accepted through the Blackfeet Utilities Commission Office, P.O. Box 1369, Browning, Montana 59417, until 10:00 am on February 27, 2001. The compactors shall come equipped with one right side mount power unit and one left side power unit. The successful bidder shall furnish and install the unit at the Blackfeet Solid Waste Transfer Facility located in Browning, Montana. The successful bidder shall also provide a safe operation training to the Transfer Facility Staff. Unit Dimensions: The compactors shall have an overall height of 54 inches, length of 239 inches and width of 69 inches outside. The unit shall have a charge box capacity of 5.5 cubic yards with a clear top opening of 96 1/2 inches by 60 inches and shall have a minimum compaction rating of 65,000 pounds and a maximum compaction rating of 77,000. Electrical: The unit's electrical motor shall have a rating of 15hp, 3/60-208/230/460. Standard Controls: Keylock start/mushroom stop/reverse connected to 50 feet sealtite. The controls shall also be equipped with a freeze proof pressure gauge to monitor trash capacity. Hydraulic Equipment: Hydraulic Pump Capacity is a minimum of 18.5 gallons per minute, the normal pressure is 1700 psi with a maximum pressure of 2000 psi. The unit shall be equipped with a thermostatically controlled oil heater, 460 volts 3-phase power. Construction: The unit shall be reinforced with 4 inch `I' beams throughout the unit, a minimum 1/2" thick steel face plate, 3/16" thick steel sides with supports.
