Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. DAHA22-01-T-0025 Applies and is issued as a Request for Quotation. This document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal AcquisitionCircular 97-14. This solicitation is 100% Set Aside for Small Business. The size standard for this is $18.0 million. The following is a statement of work for the required software. STATEMENT OF WORK 1. The 1108th AVCRAD is requesting the purchase of four multi-user licenses of face-lifting software. This software is needed to modernize the ARMMIS system which is a 17 year old proprietary client server system running in a "green screen" Unix environment. The system is used for inventory, job tracking, accounting, cost analysis, purchasing, etc. at the four AVCRADS. The software allows the system administrators to create a "Windows" environment, which enables the users to become more productive in their everyday tasks by automating common tasks. It could save millions in improving productivity by enabling the end user to perform their tasks in much less time with fewer errors. The requirements of the software are as follows: a. Custom client or server install. Menu-driven software installation directly on client PC with CD Menu- Driven software installation from network file system. b. Must support Microsoft Script Control so the systems administrator can Customize common tasks for the user. Also should support Visual Basic Programming language. c. Compatible with industry network administration tool sets and industry architectures for implementing Zero compatibility issue with other software such as linux, UNIX, all versions of windows and IBM AIX. Built-in support for policies and profiles native to Windows 9X/2000 & NT. It also should interface with Microsoft's ZAK (Zero Administration Kit for Windows), Novell's ZEN (Zero Effort Networks for Users) and other software tools as deemed necessary by the systems administrator. It shall support Centralized control of individual desktop configurations so that each desktop can be custom configured to Meet the needs of the individual user. d. It shall have advanced data security with Secure Shell (SSHv1) support so that all data exchanges between the terminal emulation client and the remote UNIX server are full encrypted and secure. e. It will be able to upgrade character-based applications with integrated multimedia support with support for speech charactization. Graphical images can be overlaid on any area of the screen, as background or foreground, tiled or stretched. f. It will support multiple, concurrent access to applications via the network or LAN. It will not interfere with any other applications residing on the Unix server. It will also support access via the internet. The ability for the end user to multi-task is also required. g. . Local printing functionality is required via a modem or serial connection allowing the sytem to redirect remote print requests to a printer attached to a local PC without the need for running an LPD server. Terminal emulation sessions will remain intact during printing Remote printing functionality via modem or serial connection shall allow redirection of print requests from local Windows applications to a printer attached to the remote system without the need for running an LPR client. Terminal emulation sessions will remain intact during printing. h. File transfer functionality via modem or serial connection so that the user can transfer files from the client PC to the UNIX server and vice-versa without the need for FTP running over TCP/IP. Terminal emulation sessions remain intact during file transfer. i. Should minimize the potential threat to firewalls by offering single point of entry. Instead of having to open up one port each for telnet, LPR, LPD and FTP. j. It will employ ActiveX and OLE2 embedding technologies and a Samba SMB file server for zero client administration file sharing with UNIX. File transfer via a graphical FTP interface, Kermit and Z-odem. Two-way printer sharing via LPR/LPD is needed. k. It will offer ease of use for the systems administrator with minimal training. It will have the ability to Create "hot spots", drop down and help menus that can be customized for the end user. l. Will interface with SARRS, NGBCU, ULLS-A and other systems as deemed necessary by the systems administrator. ,
