- Description
- The Marine Corps Systems Command(MARCORSYSCOM) intends to pursue a single award contract for the production of the Combat Vehicle Appended Trainer (CVAT) through a small business set-aside. Accordingly, the CVAT Program Office will host an Industry Day at Quantico, Virginia to provide industry and other interested parties with insight into our current requirements, notional acquisition plan, and timeline of upcoming CVAT production events. CVAT will be a family of high fidelity, deployable, precision gunnery and tactical training simulators that will be capable of appending to actual operational weapons platforms (M1A1 Tank and LAV-25). CVAT systems will emphasize individual, collective, joint training objectives to include cross training in gunnery, mission tactics, and crew communication/coordination across the skill level spectrum of familiarization, proficiency, and sustainment. A total of approximately 78 CVAT systems are planned for production (36 M1A1 and 42 LAV-25). The contract vehicle will utilize Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) CLINs for the production units. A single software baseline for CVAT is being developed in the R&D phase. The developed baseline will contain the minimum required functionality for CVAT and will be included in the Production RFP as GFI. Prospective production contractors will have the option of using the CVAT Software Baseline as developed or of modifying the baseline to provide enhanced trainer capability. Modifications to the baseline package shall be fully explained/justified in the offerors' Technical Proposal. The Industry Day has been scheduled for 15 March 2001. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. 12:00 p.m. with sign-in starting at 8:00 a.m. Location will be at the Quantico Marine Corps Base, Marine Corps Combat Development Command (MCCDC) auditorium (Combat Development Center, Bldg. 3300). Persons interested in attending should submit a request via e-mail to trickettge@mcsc.usmc.mil no later than 8 March 2001. Please provide company name, address, and size as well as name, phone number, and E-mail address for each attendee. It is requested that each firm limit the number of personnel attending to not more than three, and designate a principal point of contact if multiple names are submitted. Following a government briefing, there will be an open-forum question and answer session. All questions will be addressed anonymously, and all questions and answers will be posted at the MARCORSYSCOM website: http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/mcscctq/CVAT.htm. The Government may postpone answering some questions on the day of the briefing, but will provide subsequent answers at the MARCORSYSCOM website. In addition to the above, the government will conduct one-on-one discussions (not to exceed 60 minutes) with individual corporations for the purpose of having vendors present concepts, NDI/Commercial solutions (demonstration of solutions preferred), ideas, comment on acquisition schedule, etc. in a closed forum. Individuals contacting the government for Industry Day Registration should also indicate their interest in participating in the one-on-one discussions. The government will notify these individuals by email of their scheduled time slots within 3 business days of receipt of registration. All future information relative to this procurement, including draft and final documentation; information pertaining to the Industry Day; will be made available to industry through the MARCORSYSCOM website: http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/mcscctq/CVAT.htm.
