Description
The Naval Medical Logistics Command has a requirement for a high volume clinical analyzer system, to screen urine samples for drugs of abuse. The analyzer system will be used in Government forensic DoD drug screening laboratory facilities. The analyzer system shall be capable of randomly performing at least 8 tests (drug classes and if necessary adulterant categories of pH, nitrites, creatinine) selected by the operator or host computer. The analyzer system shall be small enough in size to permit installation of the analyzer system in a work area measuring 25 feet x 12 feet and permit adequate room for sample storage, preparation, and data handling. The system shall be configurable and compatible for optimal throughput with the use of 2 and 3 component immunoassay reagents available from at least 2 independent commercial manufacturers. The analyzer system shall be a commercial product, sold and serviced in the United States and shall be FDA compliant. Failure of any individual component of the system shall not cause a reduction of throughput in excess of 50% of the system's total capacity at anytime. The system shall be readily adapted to communicate via an interface with laboratory information management systems (LIMs). The system must be capable of transmitting all test data, calibration data, and instrument parameters across the interface. All test data must be associated with unique sample identification and transferable to the LIMs. The system must be capable of transmitting a forensic audit trail across the interface to the LIMs. Only written requests for copies of the solicitation will be honored. Submit requests to Naval Medical Logistics Command, ATTN: Nancy LaVigne or Ralph Payne, 1681 Nelson Street, Fort Detrick, MD 21702-9203. Requests may also be telefaxed to 301-619-2925 or email to NLLavigne@us.med.navy.mil or REPayne@us.med.navy.mil.
