Description
WING FLAP, LEADING EDGE MANEUVER This announcement constitutes a sources sought synopsis. The F-16 Logistics Operations Division, Mechanical/Structural Section, has a requirement for manufacture and delivery of the F-16 A,B,C,D Aircraft Wing Flap, Leading Edge Maneuver NSN: 1560-01-327-4954WF and 1560-01-327-4955WF, P/N: 16W022-845 and 16W022-846. The following information is provided to assist the Air Force in conducting a Market Research of Industry to determine potential contractors who have the knowledge, skills and experience to successfully complete this effort. This item requires engineering source approval by the engineering source activity, OO-ALC/LGFMM, to maintain the quality of the part. To produce this item, offerors must become a qualified source, by meeting all requirements of the source qualification statement. There are significant technical and schedule risks that can only be minimized by the completion of these requirements prior to contract award. These wing flaps are controlled by Lockheed Martin drawings 16W022, 16W043,16W091,16PR006, any related loft data or mylars and OO-ALC Form 462, Engineering Data Requirements and the Engineering Data List. These items are critical components of the F-16 aircraft. Correct operation is essential to mission accomplishment and personnel safety. This flap enables the F-16 to fly and maneuver throughout its flight envelope. Failure to manufacture this item by a fully qualified source can result in structural and/or operational failures that would compromise the F-16 mission capability functional integrity and create a safety risk to operations and maintenance personnel. Potential offerors are requested to provide a summary of their capabilities and facilities and any other information they have that is indicative of their ability to produce and successfully deliver these Leading Edge Wing Flaps. This is not a request for proposal. The government does not intend to contract on the basis of this request, or otherwise pay for this information being solicited. For answers to technical questions, please contact the Engineer, Steve Laverty, OO-ALC/LGFMM, (801) 775-4881. Interested parties are requested to submit two copies of the aforementioned summary of capabilities and facilities to Allen Berrett, (801) 777-0139, OO-ALC/LGKE, 6072 Fir Avenue, Hill AFB, Utah 84056-5820, no later than 15 working days after publication of this notice.
