- Description
- The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) will make available to interested offerors a request for proposal (RFP) to provide services in support of the NHLBI. The NHLBI supports a variety of task forces, conferences, and workshops and prepares numerous reports and technical documents. Many of these activities are related to assessment of the state of knowledge in a particular disease or problem area, identification of progress in that area, and recommendation of directions for future research. Support services are required to assist in conducting such activities and in preparing resulting reports and proceedings. There are three basic services to be provided. The first service is in support of scientific working groups. Under this task, the contractor shall provide a variety of services such as arrangements for scientific meetings of technical experts in research on heart, lung, and blood diseases, sleep disorders, and blood resources; development, preparation, and distribution of technical and other support materials for meetings; on site documentation of meeting proceedings; and follow-up activities and preparation of summary materials. The second major service is to provide documentation support. This task area requires two kinds of services: (1) preparation and reproduction of reports and similar documents and (2) editorial support. The third major service will provide analytical support to the NHLBI. Two types of analytical support are required: (1) qualitative and quantitative data compilation and synthesis and (2) analysis of Institute programs and activities. The contract period of performance will be for five (5) years. The project staff of the successful offeror must be available to meet with NHLBI program staff at the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland with as little as two hours advance notice. The RFP will be available on or about February 22,
