Description

The Presidio Trust, a Federal government corporation, is soliciting bids from qualified firms to perform outside cable plant reinforcement and related work in the Main Post area of the Presidio of San Francisco, CA. The Presidio is a National Park and a National Historic Landmark. Scope of work may include but is not limited to: (a) provide, place, splice, label and test new copper cable system from Building 67 to 27 other buildings; (b) place single mode fiber to those buildings; (c) extend existing Main Distribution Frame to accommodate new cable; and (d) remove abandoned cables in certain areas. Trenching performed by others; conduit is existing. All work shall conform to BISCI standards as published in its most recent documents. Estimated start date early April 2001. The Trust anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed Price Contract. Estimated price range for total project $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00. Minimum qualifications include: California Contractors License; Certificate of Insurance; and bonding capability. Service Contract Act (U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage rates) applies. IFB available approx. 26 February 2001 with bids due approx. 26 March 2001. A mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting & Site Visit will be held in early March 2001. Dates will be specified in the IFB. DATES ARE TENTATIVE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Qualified small businesses are encouraged to respond. The Presidio Trust strongly encourages prospective bidders to utilize small businesses, SDBs, MBEs and women-owned small businesses to the fullest extent consistent with efficient project performance. The Presidio Trust is a wholly owned federal government corporation and is not subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
