Description

The Broadcasting Board of Governors, International Broadcasting Bureau (BBG/IBB) intends to award a sole source contract under an approved Standardization Program to Sony Electronics Inc. for the following commercial items: (a) 7 each, Model No. DNWA75, Studio Model Editing VTR with Analog Betacam/SP playback and (b) 5 each, Model No. DNWA22, Office Viewer for Betacam SX and Betacam SP. Sony Electronics, Inc. is the only vendor which can provide the required equipment that is compatible with existing operational studio production equipment, and no other supplies will satisfy IBB requirements. Furthermore, this equipment is only available through Sony and is not available through dealers or distributors. Any responsible Contractor that has the capability to provide alternatives to the above cited equipment may submit written technical evidence to the BBG/IBB Contracting Officer at the above-listed address within 15 calendar days from the issue date of this synopsis. The Contractor shall demonstrate that the Contractor's proposed equipment is more advantageous to the Government than a sole source award to Sony Electronics, Inc. The Contractor shall also provide pricing information with its technical submission. The BBG/IBB does not intend to pay for any information received in response to this Notice. The Government reserves the discretion to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative response(s) is/are received within fifteen (15) calendar days after publication of this Notice, the BBG/IBB will award a sole source contract for the above cited equipment to Sony Electronics Inc.
