Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Hydrologic Instrumentation Facility, Stennis Space Center, MS has a requirement for the manufacture of 200 Wire Weight Gages. These are mechanical devices (cast and machined parts) that are used to measure surface water elevations in rivers, streams, and lakes. They are typically mounted on the side of roadway bridges. The wire weight gage consists of a cast aluminum drum wound with a single layer of cable, a brass weight attached to end of the cable, a graduated disc, and a Veeder counter, all within a cast aluminum box. A total of 20 first article test units are due within 90 calendar days after contract award with final production units due within 120 days after the Government provides the Contractor with written approval of the first article test units.
