Description

Title of procurement 5810 COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY EQUIPMENT FEATURE COMPONENT, JASORS INFOSEC CHIP, JIC. The GSA, FTS, Center for Information System Security (CISS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Motorola Integrated Information Systems Group, Information Security Systems and Products Division, 8220 E. Roosevelt Street, Scottsdale, Arizona, for the acquisition of approximately 3000, Joint Advance Special Operations Radio System (JASORS), Information Security (INFOSEC) Chips (JIC), Motorola part number ON495648. The required "INFOSEC Chip" is proprietary and commercial as defined by FAR Part 12.101(b). The total contract dollar amount will be less than $2 Million of which approximately one-half are subject to funds being made available for such purpose. Motorola is the only known source capable of providing the required supplies. This action is taken under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 8 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
