Description
Dear Prospective Contractor: The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is conducting Market Research for potential sources to provide General Construction Services at the BEP_s Western Currency Facility, located in Fort Worth, Texas. The contractor shall provide construction services to include labor, tools, equipment, supplies, materials, and supervision. The services to be provided are for the construction of an 86,400 square foot addition to the Production Area, a 17,600 square foot dock and truck cell facility, and a Tour Facility for the Western Currency Facility (WCF) in Fort Worth, Texas. The magnitude of this project is anticipated to be between $20 million and $30 million. The Western Currency Facility is presently fully developed with equipment to manufacture today_s currency. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) has need for additional space and equipment. Also, the present facility has just two Federal Reserve Shipping Truck Cells. The required handling and staging of currency shipments is inefficient and time consuming. The addition of four new truck cells will allow a more efficient staging and handling of currency. In an effort to educate the public about the business of the Bureau, a Tour Facility is needed at the Western Currency Facility. The Tour Facility will allow controlled public access to the WCF without the interruption of the manufacturing process or breaching any security requirements. Attached you will find a Questionnaire regarding information the BEP requires on the availability of these services. If your company is interested in being considered as a prospective contractor who can provide these services as outlined above, please complete and return the attached Questionnaire along with information on your business. Please submit the Questionnaire and other literature no later than February 21, 2001 to the following address: Bureau of Engraving and Printing, Office of Procurement, Room 705A, 14th & C Streets, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20228-0001, Attn: Gordon A. Hackley. You may also telefax your Questionnaire to the A&E Construction Contracts Division at (202) 874-2200, or e-mail gordon.hackley@bep.treas.gov. The attached Questionnaire is not a request for proposals. It is a means of acquiring information on the availability of companies interested in this requirement. The BEP may contact those companies determined to be capable of providing these services for more information. However, any company expressing an interest in this requirement by completing the attached Questionnaire will be added to the BEP's mailing list for any Solicitation, which results from this Market Research. The Government is in no way obligated to pay for the information submitted, nor reimburse companies for the cost incurred in submitting the requested information. Please contact Gordon A. Hackley at (202) 874-2226, should you have any questions regarding this Market
