Description
It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to procure professional design and layout services for the Public Health Reports (PHR), the journal of the US Public Health Service, which is published six times per year. The Public Health Reports is a peer-reviewed scientific journal intended for a broad audience of public health professionals (public health department staff members, primary care clinicians, health educators, academics and researchers, managers, epidemiologists.) The journal is perfect bound, approximately 8.5" x 11", one color text with black plus a pre-selected PMS metallic color on covers 1-4, and usually runs 96 pages (occasionally more or less). Throughout the journal, all photographs, tables, figures, and pull-quotes must be fit into the text area. The vendor will provide PHR with the following for each issuance of the PHR: detailed production schedule, laser galley proofs in full size, photo and illustration options, imposition pages, laser page proofs, edits and corrections for page proofs, revised page proofs, color proofs of covers 1 and 3, and Zip and Jaz disks and a complete set of laser pages. Request for Quotations (RFQ) Number NLM 01-056/SAN will be prepared on or around February 22, 2001. Copies of the RFQ may be requested by writing to the National Library of Medicine, Office of Acquisitions Management, 8600 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20894, Attention: Susan A. Nsangou, Contract Specialist. Copies of the RFQ may also be requested by e:mailing the request to Ms. Nsangou at her e:mail address nsangos@mail.nlm.nih.gov. Fax requests will NOT be accepted. The period of performance is anticipated to start on or about March 1, 2001 and expire on or about February 28, 2002. All responsible and responsive sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the National Library of Medicine. This requirement is being processed in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions.
