Description
The Food and Drug Administration has a requirement for the daily maintenance of a breeding colony of free-ranging rhesus monkeys (Macaca mulatta). The current colony size is approximately 3000 which includes the approximately 700 produced each year. The intention is to expand the colony to 5000 animals during the term of the contract. The Contractor shall provide all facilities, labor and acreage needed for the care and welfare of the animals while maximizing the reproductive efficiency of the colony. AAALAC accreditation or the equivalent level of facilities and animal care programs are required. This is a recompetition of an on-going contract for maintaining a free-ranging colony. RFP available on or about 3/1/01.
