- Description
- The Defense Distribution Depot Norfolk, VA (DDNV) has a requirement for a contractor to provide preventive maintenance, emergency services and corrective maintenance of six (6) automated storage / retrieval systems (AS/RS), eight (8) man-aboard storage / retrieval systems (MS/RS) and two (2) pallet conveyor systems installed at DDNV. The scope of work includes, but may not be limited to, all the necessary labor, tools, test equipment, and supervision required to perform operational maintenance on the systems. Located in buildings V52 and X136. BUILDING V52: -- The AS/RS or Demag Solomat 1010 Cranes are part of the Defense Supply System (DSS) Equipment Control System (ECS). They are Demag Solomat 1010 Cranes manufactured by Mannesmann Dematic, Rapistan Systems, Grand Rapids, MI. There are a total of 6,318 tray locations for aisles 1,2, and 3. There are two tray sizes for each of these aisles. Eight levels of size #1, measurements are; base 40" X 48", height front 8" back 14". Five levels of size #2, measurements are; base 40" X 48", height front 8" back 18". There are a total of 3,696 pallet locations for aisles 4, 5, and 6. Each pallet location measurement is 40" X 48" X 45". -- The Pallet Conveyor consists of Pneumatic Transfer Conveyor and Roller Conveyor. The Pallet Conveyor is manufactured by Industrial Kinetics, Westmont, IL. There are a total of six crane input/output conveyor stations and six receiving/shipping conveyor stations. BUILDING X136: -- The MS/RS or Harnischfeger (P & H Cranes) are part of the Defense Supply System (DSS) Equipment Control System (ECS). They are Man-aboard Cranes, manufactured by HK Systems, Milwaukee, WI. Aisles are 525' long and 35' high and a total of 11,760 pallet locations. The horizontal and vertical movements are operator controlled, by the use of a Shifter Joystick Controller. The extraction drive is push button control from the operator panel -- The Pallet Conveyor System is Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) controlled with Laser Scanner Readers. The Pallet Conveyor is manufactured by Webb-Stiles, Valley City, OH. There is a total of 2300' of pallet conveyor, consisting of roller conveyor, chain conveyor, four hydraulic lifts and ten Pneumatic lifts. The Cranes have eight input spurs and eight output spurs, a receiving dock and shipping dock. The contract period shall be for one (1) year base period with four (4) option years. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 811310.
