Description

MARCORSYSCOM is pleased to announce the availability of new documentation related to the Marine Rapid Deployment Kitchen (MRDK). These documents are contained in a Draft RFP, which can be found at http://www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/mcscctq/mrdk.htm Industry input and comment regarding this draft RFP is being solicited. In addition, MARCORSYSCOM will be sponsoring an MRDK Pre-Solicitation / Industry Day Conference. This conference will take place Thursday, February 22, 2001, at the Holiday Inn Express, located at 17133 Dumfries Rd, Dumfries VA. (Off Route 234). For directions, contact the Holiday Inn directly at 703-221-1141. The conference is scheduled to begin at 0900 hours in the Executive Room. It is requested that no more than two persons from each company or "team" intending to submit a proposal attend the event. The MRDK program has been initiated to produce and deploy a commercial, field-deployable kitchen that will fulfill the performance objectives set forth in the specification. The MRDK is a replacement for an existing combination of M59 ranges and M2 burners, typically tent-configured, which exhibit numerous shortcomings in the areas of safety and logistics. Commercial capabilities for food preparation, modular storage, more efficient power sources, and design improvements that promote safety and comfort are operational objectives this procurement will seek to leverage.
