- Description
- USGS intends to award a contract to Analytical Automation Specialists, Inc., 11723 Sunbelt Court, Baton Rouge, LA and will be dealing with the local branch located at 6151 Riverton Way, Sacramento, CA 95831. This contract will be for the following items: a) Labworks Enterprise Laboratory Information Management System software package with 3 concurrent users and 2 remote seat licenses. b) On-site installation/training and configuration of Labworks Enterprise software; c) Instrument interface for EasyChrome and Varian Star Chromatography software and balance RS232 Interface. This contract will be sole-sourced based on the following features of the AAS "LIMS" software: 1. Local service/support 2. AAS has overall highest customer support/satisfaction rating as determined by independent survey of LIMS vendors and systems by "Strategic Directions International, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA Labworks Enterprise software has these unique features which are a required need of the end-users: 1. spreadsheet style log-in of samples 2. Excel calculator, allowing for seamless integration and calculation of results in Microsoft or Excel. 3. Ability to store binary large objects (i.e. raw chromatograms, or pictures) as part of the sample result. 4. Instrument interfaces are included for the laboratory's existing instruments 5. Software is flexible allowing for future expansion if needed (system functions with various database applications, i..e., Microsoft Access, SQL Server, and Oracle). 6. System provides for application based security by limiting users to functions they are password privileged to perform. Security is established through the LIMS not at the backend data base.
