- Description
- Sources sought for construction of New Lock in Canal at marmet Locks and Dam, Kanawha River, West Virginia. Contracting Division, USACE, Huntington District, 502 8th Street, Huntington, West Virginia 25701-2070 is conducting a market survey to identify companies with the capability of performing the following type of work: Addition of 110X800-ft lock on right descending bank landward of existing locks. In addition to the new lock the project includes a downstream guide wall 1000' long, an upstream guide wall 1830' long, and an upstream guard wall approximaately 996' long. Project operations facilities at the lock site will include an operations building, a maintenance building, a storage building and a harbor for operation's fleet and decant structure. The onsite mitigation plan utilizes a low maintenance design and includes a series of 3 wetlands and baffled weirs along the relocated Burning Springs Creek. At this time the estimated cost range of this project is estimated between $100,000,000 and $250,000,000. A more detailed description of this project is not available at this time. The purpose of this sources sought announcement is to assist the Contracting Officer in assessing the number of competitive firms, for this procurement. All interested sources including Large; Small Business; Small Disadvantaged Business; 8(a) firms; women-owned businesses; joint-ventures; tribal nations; veteran owned businesses; or Hub zone firms are encouraged to provide a written statement of their capabilities and interest in this projectby April 1, 2001. This statement should include Past Performance information on similar projects (price and scope), bonding capability, equipment, and general overview of your company. Teaming arrangements of small and large businesses are encouraged.
