Description

DESC: No assigned NSN. The United States Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) intends to award a firm fixed price requirements type contract to SFA Inc. under other than full and open competition for the production of the 1500 GPH Tactical Water Purification System (TWPS). The estimated quantities for the production contract are 391 units. The Justification and Approval is currently pending approval at Department of Army. The 1500 TWPS will be used to purify a broad range of water sources (fresh, brackish, sea, and nuclear, biological and chemical-contaminated) to meet war and peacetime water support requirements and is a replacement for the 600 GPM Reserve Osmosis Water Purification Unit (ROWPU). SFA Inc. is a small business and was awarded the engineering research and development contract for the 1500 TWPS prototypes. The estimated award date for the production contract is 1 May 2001.
