- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), NOAA, intends to contract for fall protection safety equipment for the National Weather Service (NWS), National Logistics Support Center (NLSC), in Kansas City, Missouri. The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations require the Government to provide fall protection equipment for all personnel that are required to climb as a part of their job. The NWS has implemented a fall protection program which requires employees to be outfitted with personal fall protection equipment and climbing rescue equipment. The equipment includes but is not limited to: Tower climbing harnesses in various sizes, DBI/Sala 1105754; DBI/Sala 1105750; DBI/Sala 1105751; DBI/Sala 1105752; DBI/Sala 1105753; Adjustable two-legged lanyard, Miller/Dalloz 8878D6R (adjustable); Adjustable positioning lanyard, Miller/Dalloz 210WDLS6 (adjustable); Self closing, locking gate carabiner, Miller/Dalloz 17D1 (1" gate opening), Miller/Dalloz 18D1 (2" gate opening); Belt in various sizes, DBI/Sala 1000050, 1000051, 1000052, 1000053, 1000054, 1000055, 1000056. All equipment must meet OSHA regulations and applicable American Standard Institute (ANSI) standards. Contractors must provide the exact equipment specified to ensure compatibility with existing equipment. No substitutions of like or similar items will be accepted. All items shall be individually packaged and labeled in accordance with NLSC packaging and marking procedures which will be included in the solicitation package. A fixed-price, requirements type contract for a 12 month base period and four twelve-month option periods is anticipated. All responsible sources may submit a request for the solicitation to the address listed herein. Facsimile requests will be accepted at (816) 426-7530. Only written or faxed requests will be accepted. The Solicitation will be issued on or about February 20, 2001. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3842. This acquisition is not set aside for small business.
