Description
Effective January 31, 2001, this Modification Notice to the original CBD Notice submitted October 18, 2000, under Submission No. 5046C0, is for the purpose of readvertising this solicitation to change the HUBZone Set-Aside procedure to a full and open competition, TWO-STEP SEALED BID procedure. An Amendment will be issued to current planholders who ordered the original solicitation. The project work is located at Glen Canyon Dam and Powerplant, Page, Arizona. The requirement is to remove and properly dispose of existing coating and to furnish and apply new interior coatings to eight penstocks at Glen Canyon Dam and Powerplant. The portion of the penstock(s) to be coated are at a slope of 60 degrees from horizontal, where the only means of support for workers and equipment are lifelines and/or suspended work platforms. The contract will be for one base performance year and 3 option years. Each annual schedule will designate two penstocks to be coated. A site visit was held on November 9, 2000, under the original solicitation. Planholders will be notified of a date and time for a future site visit at the Glen Canyon Visitor Center. The meeting will be held in the Bureau Office conference room. The contact person for this site visit will be Mr. Jim Mahaffey. Mr. Mahaffey can be reached at (520) 645-0455. Step One -- Technical Proposals estimated due date: March 20, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. (Regional Office). All responsible sources may submit proposals which will be considered for award. Step Two -- Only those offerors whose technical proposals are acceptable will be invited to submit sealed bids on the solicitation. Estimated Price Range: Between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Work is under NAICS code: 234990. For the purpose of determining correct labor rates, all work under this solicitation shall be considered heavy construction. THIS SOLICITATION AND AMENDMENT WILL BE AVAILABLE APPROXIMATELY FEBRUARY 16, 2001, IN HARD COPY ONLY. The cost for the solicitation is $50.00 for new planholders.
