Description
THIS ACQUISITION IS A HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. You must be an eligible certified HUBZONE firm to participate. Firms interested in HUBZONE certification are directed to the HUBZONE website at www.sba.gov/hubzone or to call their local SBA office. US Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, intends to procure removal and disposition of all exotic trees, woody stem vegetation and debris from the Herbert Hoover Dike lakeside berm. Work locations shall include Indian Prairie Campground which includes approximately three miles (location includes both land side and canal side), Taylor Creek to Nubbin Slough for approximately 2.1 miles, and Kissimmee River to Okeechobee Beach for approximately five miles. Exotic trees include all standing, downed, broken and leaning exotic trees to include all downed limbs, on lakeside levee berm down to the water's edge. Tree removal shall include removal of all stumps. Woody stem vegetation and debris includes large limbs, branches, driftwood, deposits of aquatic plants, Maiden Cane Grass, both living and dead, and man-made debris, on lakeside levee berm down to water's edge. Corps personnel shall identify native tree species to remain. Contractor shall be responsible for locating these species throughout the work areas and shall exercise caution to prevent damage to all native trees from surrounding removal operations. All removed exotic trees, debris and vegetation shall be placed into suitable piles on levee berm and disposed of by burning operations. Contractor submissions shall include an alternative disposal method to burning and all costs associated with the proposed method. Copies of the solicitation document may be obtained online.
