Description

The USDA Agricultural Research Service in Phoenix, AZ has a requirement for the construction of a natural gas fired thermal oil heater. This unit will be used in the manufacture of a biological control agent directed at preventing aflatoxin contamination. The unit will be used in conjunction with a heat exchanger to heat air that will be forced through beds of wheat seed colonized by the biological control agent. The temperature of the air must be carefully regulated to prevent reduction in viability of the biocontrol agent. Sufficient heat must be generated to maintain air temperature during the process and to allow accurate adjustment as the process is modified.
