Description

The SM-43 Replacement Project will replace the forty-five (45) year old administration building at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The project will design and construct office space for approximately seven hundred (700) employees in two hundred seventy five thousand (275,000) square feet of building(s) and a four hundred (400) car parking garage. The project will be designed and constructed under a Design-Build Contract with an estimated cost between $50M to $70M. The acquisition will use a "best value" source selection procedure. This procurement will use a two-phased process. There will be an RFQ phase, which will be followed by the RFP phase and award of contract. The resultant contract will be Firm Fixed Price (FFP). The basis of the selection will include technical approach, experience, schedule, cost and other criteria (to be determined). This two-phase selection process is anticipated to begin within the next 90 days. Design and Construction work is scheduled to begin on October 2002 and be completed in 2005.
