Description

Solicitation N62836-00-R-0303 Due 4/11/01. The Government intends to issue a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) for the purchase of a portal crane with minimal capacity of 60 tons for Drydock 5 (DD5) and based on funds availability, purchase seven (7) additional portal cranes, with minimal capacity ranging from 40 to 65 tons for Drydocks 6 (DD6), 5 (DD5), 4 (DD 4), and Berth 8 at NSRF Yokosuka, Japan and Drydock 2 (DD2) at NSRF Detachment Sasebo, Japan. This will be an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type contract and the minimum guarantee will be the one crane for DD5 at Yokosuka, Japan. The cranes shall be of a standard design for use in heavy industrial applications utilizing standard commercial components. The cranes shall be electrically powered and suitable for operation on the existing crane rails. The Request for Proposal is expected to be issued on 20 February 2001. This will be an electronic solicitation only in .PDF format. No paper solicitations will be issued. Telephonic requests will not be honored. All applicable Trade Agreement Acts clauses in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) will be utilized for this procurement. Cost and Technical Proposals are being solicited. A pre-proposal conference will be held at the Naval Ship Repair Facility, Yokosuka, Japan approximately 21 calendar days after initial issuance of the solicitation.
