Description

Repair Sewer Mains, Phase IV at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal. The project includes trenching and replacement of existing underground sewer mains with PVC in areas noted on the drawings. Point repairs involving trenching and repair of damaged sewer mains. Videoing of sewer main lines to determine exact location of damages for point repairs and line size changes. Cast in place lining of damaged or cracked lines thoughout sewer system. Replacement/Repair of manholes and new manholes installation. Raising manhole covers to grade to prevent storm water infiltration. Paving, curbs, landscaped areas, and sidewalk repair where disturbed. Location and uncovering manhole covers that have been paved over. Inspection of sewer service connections to determine possible existing locations, size and material of construction. Working along an active runway and interrupting utility service to manned facilities. The project performance period is expected to be 360 calendar days. The magnitude of this project is between 1,000,000 and 5,000,000 dollars. Performance Price tradeoffs (PPT) procedures will be utilized for this procurement and proposals will be solicited on a firm-fixed price lump sum basis. North American Industry Classification System assigned to this acquisition is 234910. This requirement is RESTRICTED to Mainland Portugal and its territories in accordance with the Bilateral Agreement between Portugal and the United States dated 1995. The request for Proposal (RFP) package will be available for downloading and viewing at Electronic Posting System (EPS) at http://www.eps.gov or at our Internet homepage: http://www.lajes.af.mil then click on Business Opportunities, then click on solicitations on or about beginning of Feb 01 (subject to change). A pre-proposal conference and a site visit will be held at Lajes Field on or about mid Feb 01 (subject to change). The RFP package will be available on the Internet only. There will be no hard copies of this solicitation issued. The solicitation, plans, specifications, or drawings will not be provided in a printed paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government_s best interest. All proposals and other normal documents required for the proposal submittal, including amendments to the proposal submittal, shall be in paper medium.
