- Description
- The continued operation of the Gainesville Job Corps Center. Job Corps is a national residential training and employment program administered by the Department of Labor to address the multiple barriers to employment faced by disadvantaged youth ages 16-24 years thoughout the United States. It is anticipated that the resultant contract will be a Cost-Plus Fixed Fee contract with a two (2) year base period November 1, 2001 through October 31, 2003, plus three (3) governmental unilateral renewal options for one (1) year each. The RFP will be available on our World Wide Web Site; http://www.wdsc.org/jobcorps/schedule.html on or about February 7, 2001. The approximate average capacity strength for the center is 350 students of which 200 are residential males, 130 are residential females, 5 are non-residential males and 15 are non-residential females. The contractor will provide Post-center Career Development Support services to 20 center graduates and 12 former enrollees. A Pre-Proposal conference and Site Visit of the Job Corps Center is scheduled for February 20, 2001 at 9:00 A.M. local time at the Gainesville Job Coprs Center, 5301 NE 40th Terrace, Gainesville, FL 32609. The successful contractor shall provide Academic and Vocational Training, Career Development Service System (CDSS), operate a Counseling and Residential Living Program, and the following support services: Health services, Processing of Student Records, Discipline System, Clothing Issue, Mail services and Legal services. The contractor shall provide overall Center Management and Administration as follows: Contract and Personnel Administration, Staff Training, Financial Management, Procurement and Property Management, Facility Operations and Maintenance, Security and Safety Services, Community Relations and Public Information. It is recommended that all potential offerors download the RFP from our World Wide Web Site cited above prior to attending the Pre-Proposal conference. All questions prior to and at the Pre-Proposal conference shall be submitted in writing. Proposals in reponse to this RFP will consist of an Oral Presentation and a written submission as described in Section L of the RFP. All Written submissions shall be due no later than 2:00 P.M. local time on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at the address listed above. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
