Description

This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Description: 1. Survey of literature and creation of particulate data base, submission of survey results to peer review, submission of peer-reviewed survay and data base to NASA for publication. This activity shall be completed on or before March 1, 2001. 2. Design and construction of diffusion dryer and diffusion battery for existing HPLPC device. Mating of dryer/diffusion battery to existing HPLPC unit, testing, calibration and delivery of complete device. This activity shall be completed on or before March 1, 2001. 3. Design and construction of pressure reduction facility to be used with existing NASA GRC flametube facilities (CE9, ASCR), performance evaluation, testing, calibration and delivery. Nominal performance shall be less than or equal to 20 SLPM. Delivery shall be no later than April 1, 2001. NASA/GRC intends to purchase these items from The University of Missouri at Rolla. The equipment is a modification of existing NASA/GRC equipment that was originally manufactured by them. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-20. The NAICS Code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 54133 and $2.5m, respectively. If the end product(s) quoted is other than domestic end product(s) as defined in the clause entitled "Buy American Act -- Supplies," the quoter shall so state and shall list the country of origin.
