- 17. Notice of intent to issue a Request For Information No. NAI010041 for a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) Bureau-wide Enterprise Solution on a 'Brand Name Or Equal' basis consisting of Microsoft Operating System (Office 2000 with Back Office), Microsoft Office 2000 Professional Office Automation Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook, Publisher and Small Business Tools) and additional related products. As this announcement is being issued to determine if competing solutions are available, issuance of the RFI will be limited only to those firms who have ownership of the solution being offered for consideration. Should firms wish to 'partner' to provide the integrated solution being sought, the consortium shall select a single point of contact to represent the consortium in all matters related to this action. Those firms who choose to offer their enterprise solution through a 'partner/reseller' shall select a single 'partner/reseller' as the single contact point for matters relating to this action. Offered competing technologies will be subject to a two (2) step review/validation process. Step 1 will consist of a literature review wherein offerors will be required to provide a 'feature by feature' mapping of their enterprise solution to the above named COTS solution. Only those firm(s) whose solution(s) is/are determined by the Step 1 literature review to be fully compliant will be invited to participate in Step 2 of the process. Those firm(s) who are invited to Step 2 of the process will be issued the subject RFI wherein those firm(s) will be invited to physically demonstrate their proposed solution(s). Issuance of the actual pricing solicitation (Request for Proposal) will be limited to ONLY those firm(s) whose solution(s) have been validated as being 'Or Equal' to the above identified enterprise solution. The CBD announcement for this pricing action (Request for Proposal) will identify those solutions that will be considered for award. Only Authorized Resellers and the actual manufacturer of these solution(s) will be considered for award. The period of performance for this award will be three (3) years in duration and will include license acquisition, maintenance and technical support. Firms wishing to offer an 'Or Equal' enterprise solution, in accordance with the above, may do so by contacting Gary Meade at 303.236.9038 or be Email at: Gary Meade@BLM.GOV on or before close of business 9 February 2001. To be considered, vendors offering competing technologies shall have to be determined in Steps 1 and 2 above to be 'Or Equal' to the above identified Microsoft enterprise solution. NOTE: Failure of a firm to identify/submit its offering (competing technology or solution) within the above stated timeframe will remove that technology or solution from further consideration (Step 2 and the subsequent RFP issuance).
