Description

Manufacturing services of the Master Carburetor and Slave Carburetor for the Pioneer Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). The Pioneer UAV Program currently supports the Navy and Marine Corps by providing logistics support to the fleet users. There is a current requirement for manufacturing services of the Master Carburetor and Slave Carburetor. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis with Herbrandson Engines, Inc., 4909 West Marine Avenue, Lawndale, CA 90260. Herbrandson Engines, Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer and owns the proprietary data rights to these carburetors. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is FAR 6.302-1; only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The contract will be awarded using written quotation. The anticipated award date is 21 February 2001. See Note 22.
