- MARKET RESEARCH. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. The following Request for Information (RFI) is issued for the purposes of conducting market research to acquire information on any existing 120 mm Anti-Personnel Tracer Round (APERS-T) for the Marine Corps M1A1 Tank. Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) Ground Weapons Directorate, PM Tanks, is developing a Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) program to support the future APERS-T program for the M1A1 Tank to determine if there are any existing APERS-T rounds that may potentially fulfill the Marine Corps requirements for lethality, reliability, safety and cost. Information is requested only on 120 mm APERS-T rounds that meet the following conditions: 1. APERS-T round must be in production, or be produced without any additional start up costs incurred by the customer. 2. Must meet U.S. safety requirements for 120 mm tank ammunition. 3. APERS-T round must require no modification to the round, ammo storage in the tank, or the M256 120 mm Tank Cannon to be fired. 4. Unit procurement cost will not exceed $2000. 5. Round must be effective out to 4000 meters. 6. Must provide good effects against dismounted infantry. Interested firms should include literature, brochures, price lists, test data, and capabilities summaries directly addressing their ability to meet the aforementioned needs. Firms are requested to respond NLT 12 February 2001, stating their business size, SIC Code, and identifying a corporate point of contact. Interested sources should respond to: (U. S. Mail address) Commander, Marine Corps Systems Command, ATTN CTQ-JC, 2033 Barnett Ave., Suite 315, Quantico, VA 22134-5010. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY ITEMS/SERVICES, NOR FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THE INFORMATION RECEIVED.
