Description

The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center-Natick (USA RMAC-Natick), in support of the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC), has a requirement for a new combat utility uniform, hereinafter referred to as Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform (MCCUU). The MCCUU will replace the currently issued BDU cammies worn by Marines. The MCCUU shall be permanent press treated with new woodland and desert camouflage print, and is intended to increase utility, durability and comfort over the cammies while creating a unique and distinct appearance for USMC. This requirement is a Full and Open Competitive acquisition. A final CBD Announcement and solicitation will be released on or about March 01, 2001, with proposals due on or about April 1, 2001. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 315299, small business size standard is 500 employees. Firms shall not be reimbursed for any costs associated with proposals. The Government envisions that multiple Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts will be awarded as a result of the Request for Proposal. The Government anticipates employing an Award Term acquisition strategy, however, a Base Ordering Period, with Options strategy may be employed. A Draft Performance Specification, illustrations (which are referenced figures for the Performance Specifications), Miscellaneous Information/Questions to Industry sheet, and drafts of Sections C, L and M of the Request For Proposal (RFP), will be posted to the USA RMAC-Natick Website at http://www3.natick.army.mil (Go to Business Opportunities, then to Ongoing Acquisitions, then to solicitation number DAAD MCCUU), on or about January 22, 2001. Interested parties may request copies of the Patterns, by either providing an E-mail address (for electronic patterns), or a physical mailing address for paper patterns (which shall be delivered by Fedex). In accordance with FAR 5.102(a)(7), when released, the solicitation, including all amendments, and applicable documents (with the exception of patterns) will only be available in electronic medium at the above referenced web page. Interested parties shall submit any comments, questions or inquires, concerning any of the documents and illustrations in writing via e-mail to the Contract Specialist, Thomas Bouchard, at thomas.bouchard@natick.army.mil no later than 11:00 a.m. (EST) on or before February 21, 2001.
