Description

Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract on a Sole Source basis to Silicon Graphics Inc., 1500 Perimeter St. 100, Huntsville, AL 35806 for renewal of a Silicon Graphics On-site Hardware and Software Maintenance Support. The Government plans to issue a request for written quote to Silicon Graphics Incasing FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13 The anticipated award date is 12 February 01. This action is being processed on a Sole Source basis due to the fact that Silicon Graphics Inc. shall maintain Silicon Graphics Full Care software licenses which includes IRIX Operating Software, Advanced Server Environment, Performance Co-Pilot and React/Pro. All hardware repairs and software upgrades must be mechanically, physically, and electronically compatible with the existing Silicon Graphics hardware and software without modifications. Maintenance services include: hardware response time is 24 consecutive hours (equals one eight-hour work day) based on a 5-day work week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0800 and 1700; unlimited, toll-free telephone assistance to be provided 7 days per week, 24 hours per day; software enhancement and upgrade releases to be sent automatically; all parts, labor, travel, preventative maintenance and shipping charges will be included in the contract; no additional charges are to be made against the government. Any Company that believes it has the capability to meet the Government's minimum requirements is invited to submit a quote for Government evaluation. The vendor must be an authorized Silicon Graphics maintenance and repair facility in order to obtain parts, provide technical support, and software upgrades. Replacement parts must be Silicon Graphics OEM parts. All proposals from responsible sources will be considered. Telephone requests will not be honored.
