- Z -- The work includes, but is not limited to, labor, materials, equipment, supervision and management for all work associated with removal and replacing the existing roof, windows, and heating/ventilation systems to Building 403 CP, a 9,035 square foot, one story, gable roof, wood framed structure at Naval Station Newport, Newport, Rhode Island. Work also includes removal of asbestos in roof flashing and lead abatement in siding, PCB ballast, and lighting fixtures and approximately 6000 sq. ft. of flooring with mastic adhesive, and installing a new fire detection and suppression system. Work items include removing and replacing existing roofing materials and providing adequate roof and building ventilation. The project includes removing 69 double hung windows and replacing with 60 smaller awning type windows. The work also includes removing existing exterior lead painted wood siding and disposal of same per codes listed and replacing with vinyl siding (quantity: 7264 sq. ft.). Replacing 30 doors, frames, and hardware throughout building; removing existing interior partitions and replacing with new interior partitions and finishes. Replacing tile and plumbing for existing toilet rooms, locker, and shower facilities (12 fixtures). Replacing obsolete pool tank filtration and pumping system. Painting existing pool and berm around pool taking and replacing non-skid pool deck surface. Replacing and increasing the size of main building sewer line to accommodate new water filter. Replacing ceiling mounted unit heaters and condensate return lines in pool. Replacing overhead lighting, ceiling grid, acoustic ceiling tiles and insulation. The project includes removal and disposal of lead-based paint and asbestos containing materials. The completion time for this basic requirement is 210 calendar days. The building is to remain functional between period of May 1, 2001 through September 30, 2001. The solicitation is issued as UNRESTRICTED. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 235110 and the size standard is $11.5 million. The estimated cost range is between $100,000 and $1,000,000.00. Davis Bacon Wages are applicable to this project. THE ISSUE DATE IS ON OR ABOUT February 2, 2001. OFFER DUE DATE IS March 5, 2001. The Government intends to issue the entire solicitation including plans and specifications on or about February 2, 2001. Viewing and downloading will be available at www.esol.navfac.navy.mil. ROICC contracts office will no longer provide copies to contractors who visit or fax in a request. Amendments will be posted on the web site for downloading.
