Description

Chickamauga Visitor Center Overlook, Chickamauga Lock. Demolition and removal of existing rock/adhesive material from roof surface to a point as a minimum 14 inches beyond concrete cut line as defined in drawing. Testing and disposal of materials in environmentally safe manner in accordance with guidelines. Handrails to be removed and reinstalled. Concrete curb wall and concrete slab to be disposed of in an approved off-site location. Top of remaining concrete to be roughened and cleaned to a width of 11 1/2 inches from the newly cut edge. Curb/wall shall be reinforced with #4 bars both faces. Existing handrail shall be modified to match the configuration of the new concrete curb/wall. Handrail post shall be prepped and butt welded to embedded pipe sleeve with welded/damaged areas primed and painted to match existing handrail. Spalling concrete at the top of the headwater wing wall shall be chipped and removed. One inch thick expansion joint material shall be cut, grouted, smoothed out and attached to the bottom of the visitor center overlook. The period of performance is 120 days. The forthcoming contract will be firm fixed price. The estimated range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. This is an Unrestricted acquisition in accordance with Public Law 100-656, Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program (Designated Industry Groups). For the purpose of determining Small Business size, the NAICS Code 23332 for this acquisition requires that the average annual receipts of concerns and affiliates for the preceding three fiscal years must not exceed $27.5 million. The Nashville District uses the Internet for advertising and issuance of requests for quotations.
