Description

Contractor shall plant approximately 146,500 Ponderosa pine 1-0 and 175,000 Douglas-fir 1-0 bare root seedlings. Hoedad or other acceptable hand tools shall be used. Plastic mesh protection tubes shall be istalled on 50% of the planted trees. Tubes shall be installed using two baboo stakes per tube. All protector tubes are in 4" X 20" packages in nestled groups of 10 tubes. Stakes are 36" X 8mm in diameter. Approximately 475 acres shall be planted with 8 X 8 foot spacing in the areas designated on the ground. Acreage was determined by traverse using a compass and chain. NOTE: Planting areas are covered in heavy grass and light brush with 10-60% slopes and small areas of rock outcropping. A two (2) foot radius will be grubbed before planting. NOTE: 4x4 vehicle will be necessary, and 4X4 quads are recommded due to long walk-ins. Work under this contract is located in Trinity County, California. Estimated price range of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
