- Defense Logistics Agency, Defense Systems Center Columbus (DLA/DSCC-CCT) is hosting an Industry Day to determine whether there are contractors capable of supporting avionics manufacturing customers. This is for information only and shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. The contractors may be responsible for items identified as program specific or worldwide demand. The responsibilities may include supply chain management, customer service or liaison support to the customer, inventory management, forecasting, storage, kitting, packaging or repackaging and transportation of the items. It is anticipated the contractor shall establish and maintain relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Government, distributors, and other suppliers of items as required. The Government is considering entering into a long-term partnership of between two and ten years based upon contractor performance. The requirements may be DLA managed National Stock Numbers (NSNs) as well as other manufactured items and consumables as required for the avionics manufacturing processes. The items historically utilized in one customer's manufacturing process will be listed at http://www.dscc.dla.mil/programs/contracts/amps. This list will be updated as other customers may be identified. An ultimate acquisition approach has not been determined therefore, this synopsis neither constitutes a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government or obligate the Government to continue with the acquisition. Industry Day Location: WR-LYP Auditorium located in Bldg 640 at the corner of 9th Street and Page Road. The mailing address is 380 Richard Ray Blvd, Robins AFB, GA 31098-1638, however; all correspondence should be sent to the Point of Contact (POC) listed below. Industry Day Date: 6 February 2001, 0800 Registration, 0830 Introductions, 0900-1100 Business Briefings/Questions, 1300-1500 manufacturing tour; 7 February 2001 is reserved for one-on-one previously scheduled meetings, as necessary, between appropriate customers and interested companies. The contractor may request the one-on-one meetings by sending an agenda no later than January 31st to the POC: Marcella Wolfe, DSCC-CCT, 3990 East Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43216-5000, telephone (614) 692-7811, Fax (614) 692-1620 or e-mail at marcella.wolfe@dscc.dla.mil. If a meeting is deemed necessary and is scheduled, the company will be presented a time for individual meetings on February 6th. To attend the conference, interested parties must register with the POC no later than January 31st by sending the company name and list of attendees (limited to five per company), social security numbers, country of citizenship and phone numbers so the security/visitor information can be processed. Attendees will be required to first report to the visitor's center upon arrival. The interested parties may submit a list of concerns or issues in writing by January 31st. The issues/concerns may or may not be addressed on February 6th during the Industry Day conference. No later than 16 February, 2001, Industry Day participants will be asked to submit a white paper detailing ideas or solutions to the issues discussed during the Industry Day along with a statement of interest in this type of relationship. The white papers may be reviewed by the Government to determine the feasibility of the acquisition and approach. The Government will not pay for any expenses associated with this industry day nor for any information submitted by respondents.
