Description

17. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation Notice of Intent for Maintenance Services for DNA Genetic Analysis Equipment in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is issued as a Notice of Intent (NOI #RML0001). The soliciation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97- 21. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 811219 and the small business size is $5M. SCHEDULE: The Rocky Mountain Laboratories, Laboratory of Human Bacterial Pathogenesis proposes toaward a purchase order to Applied Biosystems, 850 Lincoln Centre Dr., Foster City, CA 94404, who is the sole source for providing preventive maintenance and emergency repair services for the following DNA Genetic Analysis equipment, (as manufactured by Applied Biosystems -AKA Perkin Elmer Corp.): (2) Model 3700 DNA Analyzers and (1) Model 377 DNA Sequencer. Applied Biosystems is the manufacturer and due to warranty terms is the only authorized source for maintenance. FOB Point shall be Destination, Hamilton, MT. Period of Performance to be 02/18/2001-02/17/2002. Delivery location is Rocky Mountain Laboratories, 903 S. 4th Street, Hamilton, MT. The following FAR provisions and clauses apply to this acquisition: 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors Commercial;; FAR 52-212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions Commercial Items; FAR 52-212.5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders Commercial Items. Offerors must include with their offer a completed copy of the provisions at FAR 52.212-3 Offerors Representations and Certifications Commercial Items. Any response may be mailed or faxed to the POC indicated above (Fax -- 406-363-9288) and will be due no later than 4:30 PM (MDST), 02/02/01. Copies of the above-referenced clauses are available upon request, either by telephone or fax.
