- Description
- Indefinite quantity A-E services, with services that may consist of preparation of complete and preliminary designs, construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates; assist the USPS during solicitation of proposals for construction, and perform optional Title II services during construction for surveillance; shop drawing review and approval; and preparation of as-builts for new facilities and repair & alteration projects within the States of Colorado and Wyoming. Interested A/E firms should indicate the type of designs (new facilities and/or repair and alteration of existing facilities) they would like to be considered for. A/E firms can request consideration for one or both type of project design. The following will be the evaluation criteria for repair & alteration designs: 1) Office located within 100 mile radius of Denver, CO; 2) a minimum staffing of three (3) personnel in the prime firm, with two (2) or more architects registered in the state of Colorado or Wyoming; 3) experience in small repair and alteration projects, including, but not limited to: architectural barriers, HVAC, roof repair/replacement, paving repairs/replacements, and OSHA requirements; 4) previous owners references; and experience with Postal facilities. The following be the evaluation criteria for new facilities design: 1) Office located within 100 mile radius of Denver, CO; 2) a minimum staffing of eight (8) personnel in the prime firm, with two (2) or more architects registered in the state of Colorado or Wyoming, and three (3) or more registered professionals in electrical, mechanical, structural or civil engineering disciplines; 3) experience with preparation of construction documents for new facilities using standard building plans; 4) Ability to provide high-quality services in construction administration as the owner_s representative; and 5) previous owners references. The selected A-E(s) may be awarded subsequent services over a period of five (5) years subject to project needs of the Postal Service and the A-E_s availability of staff knowledgeable in Postal work, firm workload, and the high quality of A-E_s performance on recent Postal projects. There is a $5,000 guaranteed contract minimum. Award of additional projects may be made without further solicitation for facilities located within the geographical area noted above. Firms that have the qualifications to perform the services described above are invited to submit a completed SF 255, Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire for Specific Projects, a completed SF 254, Architect-Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire, and a completed SF 254 for each of its proposed consultants to the office shown above, and received no later than 3:00 PM, February 8, 2001. Multiple awards will be made from this solicitation. Interested firms with more than one office must indicate on their SF 255, the staffing composition of the office in which the work will be performed. The contract contains a requirement for firms to provide evidence of current insurance of $200,000 of errors and omissions per claim. It is prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage, or brokerage fee to any person or firm contingent upon or resulting from award of a contract for this project. No other general notification for this project will be made. Submission of SF 254 and SF 255 by USPS mail (Express Mail, Priority Mail, or First Class) is encouraged. Submissions will not be retained or returned. This is not a request for proposal.
