Description

Subject to the approval by USD(AT&L) of the Addendum to the JSF Acquisition Strategy, the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program Office intends to award fixed price level of effort contracts to The Boeing Company, Information, Space & Defense Systems, P.O. Box 3707, Mail Stop 4C-80, Seattle, WA 98124-2207 and Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Corporation, P.O. Box 748, Fort Worth, TX 76101 for the purpose of essential pre-Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) planning activities to ensure a smooth transition into EMD. Boeing and Lockheed were competitively awarded the current JSF Concept Demonstration Program Contracts, N00019-97-C-0037 and N00019-97-C-0038, respectively, and are currently preparing for the down select for the EMD phase of the program. They are therefore the only Contractors that can perform the necessary work within the required JSF EMD schedule.
