Description

The US Army Research Laboratory, Weapons and Materials Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005, plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the purchase of Directed Material Deposition System, Model 850 with the following performance requirements: 1) 2kW continuous/5kW pulsed Nd: YAG laser with fiber optic beam delivery, 2)36"W x 36"D x 42"H process envelope, 3) 2nd powder feed unit with gradient option, 4) 5-axis deposition head with controlling software, 6) Powder refill system, 7)Tilt/theta axis rotate stage (6th and 7th axes), 8) Weld pool analysis system for closed-loop control, 9)Closed-loop Z-height control, 10)Spare parts kit, 11)On-site start-up service including up to five-day system installation and orientation, 12) System training including up to four people at manufacturer's facility. The government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have until 01 February 2001 to submit in writing via FAX 410-278-6522 to the identified point of contact, an offer for equipment meeting the above specific requirements. Responses must indicate whether equipment is available under a current GSA contract. Evaluation of Bids/Offers: A bidder/offeror must quote on all items in this synopsis to be eligible for award. The Government will award on the basis determined most advantageous and determined to be in the best interest of the Government. Delivery, price, and past performance will also be considered. Responses received after 01 February 2001 or without the required information will be considered non-responsive to this synopsis and will not be considered.
