Description

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport, is interested in identifying potential sources for Submarine Periscope Electro-Optical Imaging Upgrades. A firm fixed price contract is being considered for the production and backfit of imaging upgrades into the Type 18 Periscope Set. The scope of the contract will require major teardown, repair, machining, assembly, alignment, and testing of the Type 18 Eyepiece Box Assembly to incorporate three new electro-optic imaging sensors. Tasking will also require the manufacture and test of an external rack of equipment for image processing, display, and storage. Interface cabling, shipboard installation, shipboard foundations, shipboard test, and crew training will also be required. Vendors with capability in the manufacturing, upgrading and repair of complex electro-optical equipment, associated electronic image processing and display units are requested to respond to Mr. William Hurley.
