Description

The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences intends to award a sole source purchase order to Aquatic Eco-Systems, Inc., Apopka, FL, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) -- Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for the a complete Aquatic Habitat System to be used for raising large numbers of zebrafish with the following components: complete life support system, complete 6-shelf racks, tanks and manifolds, replacement parts and components, delivery and installation of system, and one-year service agreement. This system must have the following features: 1) tanks need to be self cleaning by use of a baffle which forces debris from bottom; 2) system needs to be a recirculating system of water with inline sterilizers; 3) water changes need to be automatic with salts and minerals automatically mixed by a doser for proper osmotic control; 4) tanks sit on dry shelves and water is drained out the back into waste pipes; 5) system must be modular with ability to change tank configuration; 6) Ph and water level should be monitored automatically with alarm systems; and 7) racks are to be stainless steel and tanks autoclaveable. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 2 days of closing date of notice to Dee Lunney at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 2 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Aquatic Eco-Systems, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 339111/500EM. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. 100% Small Business Set-Aside. See Note 1.*****
