- This modification adds information inadvertently omitted from the Jan 08 2001 Pre-Solicitation Notice : The correct title of the Pre-Solicitation Notice is : BOILER PLANT GENERATOR REPLACEMENT AT THE US COAST GUARD ACADEMY, NEW LONDON, CT. ISSUE DATE : 12 JAN. 2001 ... Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary for replacement of emergency generator at Boiler Plant, US Coast Guard Academy, New London, CT. Work includeds: (1) the removal and disposal of the existing generator, transfer switch, and control console; and (2)the installation of a new generator, transfer switch and control console. The work consists mainly of removal of existing generator and installation of a new generator with base mounted double wall tank and associated transfer switch and control console; complete and ready to use. Estimated cost of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. NAICS code is 235310 (Electrical Contractors). Solicitation packages will be available on 12 Jan 2001. The due date for receipt of quotations is 21 FEB 2001, 4:00 PM. Our office no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
